Oscillating Ceramic Heaters Recall - Latest Info

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in conjunction with Meijer, recently announced the recall of 6,700 Touch Point Oscillating Ceramic Heaters due to faulty oscillating mechanisms that heighten the risk of fire.

The heaters’ model number is PTC- 902 and serial numbers 35005-43008 are affected. The product is described as 10 inches tall and grey or silver in color with a screen attached along the front. The model and serial numbers are located on the underneath cover of the heater.

Meijer has acknowledged receiving two reported instances of fire that resulted in damage to property. Fortunately, no injuries were sustained.

Meijer advises product owners to cease using these heaters at once and to return them to a local Meijer outlet to receive a full refund.

The heaters were only sold at outlets in the following states - Michigan, Indiana, Kentucky, Illinois, and Ohio between October 2009 and October 2010 for approximately $25.

Customers requiring further information can call Meijer at 1-866-280-8419 during regular business hours of 9 am and 5 pm.
