Graduate School Scholarship - UUP Announces New Scholarship For Graduate Students

A new scholarship initiative geared towards SUNY graduate students was announced by the United University Professions (UUP), the United States’ most extensive union in higher learning.

The scholarship, known as the William Scheuerman Post Baccalaureate Scholarship, is accessible to those SUNY graduate or professional students who best personify the aims of the labor union movement. To be eligible, prospective scholarship winners must be registered in at least nine courses and have successfully passed nine beforehand. Also, eligible candidates must attain a grade point average of 4.0 to win the scholarship named for past UUP President William Scheuerman.

The UUP also has a College Scholarship Fund earmarked for high achieving undergrads who have demonstrated academic ability by at least achieving a grade point average of 3.75. Undergrads can access these scholarships of $2000 only once in their undergrad years.

Either of these scholarships can be applied to via the internet by going to the website of UUP or by visiting a local UUP office at a SUNY state campus, or even at the various campus financial aid locations.

The deadline for scholarship applications is March 1, 2011.

More information can be had by calling UUP’s Administration Office at 1- 800-342-4206.
