Volvo Recall - Latest Info

Volvo Cars announced a recall on certain of their models with the Garmin 760 Portable GPS installed. There is a concern that the batteries may overheat on the 416 GPS which could lead to fire.

The vehicle recall is for the following models and years:

VOLVO / C70 2006-2010, VOLVO / S40 2004-2010, VOLVO / S60 2001-2009, VOLVO / S80 2000-2010, VOLVO / V50 2005-2010, VOLVO / V70 2001-2010, VOLVO / XC70 2001-2010, VOLVO / XC90 2003-2010

Volvo suggests vehicle owners stop using the GPS immediately and go to the Garmin website to check if their vehicle is listed. The GPS battery will be replaced at no cost to the owner and a spacer will be installed on top of the new battery. A full recall is set to begin this month.
