Oprah To Take Her Entire Audience On Trip To Australia

US chat show queen Oprah Winfrey recently made an announcement during the first episode of her 25th and final series, stating that she planned to take every one of her 300 audience members on a trip to Australia in December. She added that the group would have a celebrity pilot for their journey down under - Hollywood superstar John Travolta, who is a commercial pilot with over 5000 hours of flying experience, and certified to pilot the Boeing 747-400. The trip will be partly funded by the Australian government, which considers this as an opportunity to boost tourism to their country.

“Oprah is a household name and her star power has the potential to lift Australia’s profile as a premier tourist destination,” said the Australian Tourism Minister, Martin Ferguson.

The trip is expected to last eight days, and several episodes are scheduled to be filmed during the trip, which is set to take in beaches, vineyards, the Sydney Harbor and the Great Barrier Reef. The trip had taken over a year to plan, said Winfrey, who added that John Travolta had been very involved in the planning of this special trip. After she retires from the show, the chat show legend plans to launch her own television channel, which is to be named the “Oprah Winfrey Network.”
