Nissan Sentra Recall - Latest Info
Nissan North America, Inc. recently announced the recall of the 2010 and 2011 Sentra, due to a problem associated with the electrical system fitted to these vehicles. This recall affects an estimated 13,737 vehicles, and applies to all Nissan Sentra vehicles manufactured between May 22, 2010 and July 8, 2010.
This recall was announced following the discovery that the positive terminal of the battery cables fitted to some of these vehicles may have been incorrectly machined, which could result in a voltage drop that could prevent the vehicle from being able to start, and could also result in serious damage to the engine control module. Due to this problem, there is also a likelihood of the engine ceasing whilst the vehicle is in motion, and becoming incapable of being started again, which would significantly increase the risk of the vehicle becoming involved in a crash.
Owners of all Nissan Sentra vehicles affected by this recall are requested to contact their local Nissan dealer in order to have their vehicles inspected, and have the battery cable replaced if required. All inspections and replacements associated with this fault will be carried out free of charge by Nissan dealers. Owners who require further information regarding this fault may also contact Nissan North America, Inc. directly on 1 800 647 7261.
