Fannie Mae Launches HomePath Online To Improve Home-Buying Process

The mortgage giant Fannie Mae (OTC:FNMA) recently announced details of a new pilot program that has been designed with a view to simplifying and standardizing the process of making an offer for and purchasing homes owned by Fannie Mae, for all buyers.

This new online system is known as HomePath Online, and allows real estate agents to make offers for properties owned by Fannie Mae in Orlando, FL, San Diego, CA, and in Wayne County, Detroit, MI, on behalf of their clients. The new HomePath Online system also enables real estate agents to track the status of all offers made, over the internet, improving the transparency and the efficiency of this process of making offers for and purchasing Fannie Mae owned properties in these areas.

The new online system is currently operational in the selected pilot areas, and interested estate agents may access these services by visiting the HomePath Online website.

Jim Tiegen, the Vice President of Fannie Mae’s REO Regional Offices, issued the following statement regarding this new pilot project: “HomePath Online Offers provides increased transparency and efficiency in the submission process for our real estate partners and prospective buyers. This online pilot is a critical step toward ensuring that all buyers have the same experience making offers and purchasing homes.”
