Volvo Truck Recall - Latest Info

Volvo Trucks North America recently announced a recall for a variety of their truck models - VHD model year 2007 and 2009, VN model year 2006, and VT model 2007 through to 2009 - that have an air release spare wheel.

The issue is that the inversion on the wheel frame is situated in a way such that pollutants can enter the valve via the exhaust port resulting in corrosion of the brake valve.

Corrosion of the brake valve is very serious and heightens the risk of an accident due to brake malfunction.

Volvo suggests Volvo truck owners to contact their local Volvo dealer to arrange for the inversion valve to be inspected and subsequently replaced if needed. There will be no cost to the consumer for this work to be performed.
