Australia Flights - JAL Adds Gold Coast Route In Codeshare With Jetstar

Japan Airlines and Jetstar Airways recently announced they each agree to an arrangement that will enlarge their codeshare alliance to encompass flights maintained by Jetstar on circuits joining Japan’s 2 biggest cities of Tokyo and Osaka with the Gold coast region in Queensland, Australia beginning on November 25, 2010.

JAL has been in partnership with Jetstar beginning in May, 2007. This enlarged codeshare program will put the Gold Coast, which is beginning to get popular with Japanese tourists, on JAL’s Australian itinerary right beside Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide, and Perth.

The flights under the new arrangement will only be economy class with in flight meals and soft drinks included. Hard drinks will be available but for purchase only.

Independently, JAL has a permanent route between Tokyo and Sydney scheduled only once per day. This route boasts the prestigious JAL Shell Flat seat in first class, and the JAL Sky Shell seat located in prime economy.
